ETHEL's TruckStop- project shines a spotlight on the melting pot of American music through collaboration, workshops and public performances with local artists from a vast array of genres and traditions, sharing cultural perspectives on music, improvising, and composing new works that transcend categorization. Celebrate the power of music as a common language through this one-of-a-kind project.

In 2001 we inaugurated our Native American Composer Apprentice Project (NACAP), an intensive tutoring program on the art of composition for string quartet. Our 2010 composers-in-residence, Raven Chacon and Trevor Reed, work with students from 5 Navajo and Hopi high schools. Those student works are then work-shopped, premiered, toured, and recorded by ETHEL, NACAP 2010 ensemble-in-residence.
Grand Canyon Star Party
The 2010 Grand Canyon Star Party (GCSP) will be held from June 5th through 12th on the South Rim in northern Arizona's Grand Canyon National Park. All amateur astronomers and the interested public of all ages are invited! Bring your telescope and enjoy the camaraderie. But you don't have to have a telescope to come and enjoy the beautiful Arizona night skies.
If you are a visitor to the Grand Canyon National Park at the time of GCSP 2010, no action is required; just come on out any night to Yavapai Observing Station and enjoy the wonderful nights with us under the high desert skies. Again, no registration is necessary for visitors, but astronomer participants will need to register in order to receive further instructions and entry information.
