"The Grand Canyon Enlightened"

Grand Canyon Railway
The Grand Canyon Railway leaves daily from the historic Rt. 66 town of Williams, AZ and makes its way through Kaibab National Forest to the train station in Grand Canyon Village.  There are several different cars to choose from, as a well a mock train robbery along the way.  Although this is a beautiful ride, you never see the Grand Canyon from the train.  The good news is you are dropped off only a few hundred feet from the rim, and have several hours to explore before you head back to Williams.  A great way to experience more of the canyon is to get an overnight package at one of the South Rim hotels and take the Grand Canyon Railway back the following day.

The South Rim of the Grand Canyon is known for its spectacular vistas, and is the hub of the National Park.  The hotels are all in Grand Canyon village where the train drops you off, and a package can be booked through Grand Canyon Railway.  Several guided tours are available at the South Rim, including rim tours, and more adventurous hikes an mule rides below the rim.
